Universal Studios is a theme park/studio lot
Universal is a theme park with rides and shows based on movies and television. And it just so happens to be next to the actual Universal backlot which is where they film the movies. Here is a picture of the main entrance to the park. And also another picture of the backlot which is the bottom floor of the park.
In this backlot you'll find the ride Jurassic Park as well as the Backdraft attraction that puts you in a burning wearhouse.
One of the best shows at Universal is the Waterwold show. This show is based on the movie staring Kevin Costner where all the land is now underwater and everyone lives on floating cities. Here is picture of the set.
And probably the best ride at Universal is the Studio Tour. The Studio tour is a bus that takes you in and out of the backlot and shows you many special effects and movie secrets. You also get to see an anamatronic Jaws and King Kong as well as a simulation of an earthquake.
